To get a better understanding of Joana’s guide, you have to first look at who Joana is. The most annoying thing about many Starcraft guides are people who do not have actual skill yet preach like they do. It will take a while for you to be able to fully implement the strategies, as there are so many, and your control will not be as good, but after some time you will be able to do it easily. There is a guide for every race, so you will not feel left out. You can buy only 1 guide, and you can be good at all three races. Knowing how to play against each race is essential. You cannot use the same strategy for a Terran and a Zerg, as they are very different, have different units, etc.

So the Terran guide is broken down with playing against Terrans, Zerg, and Protoss. The Zerg Guide has strategies for Terran, Protoss and Zerg. The Protoss Guide has strategies for Terran, Protoss and Zerg. Each race is balanced out equally in this guide making it an absolutely great guide for anybody who wishes to master 1 race.

Sometimes when I first start playing a game, I will not just jump into the online games as they are much much more complicated. It takes a lot more skill to master online games. Instead of worrying about that, I will start off with single player campaigns. There are details for every part of the single player campaigns, so you can easily beat it giving you a good foundation to the game. Although it feels like cheating a bit, because it makes it so much easier, but it’s still very very fun.

On my quest for knowledge, new strategies, and overall getting better in Starcraft 2 I decided to check out different guides.  Now normally most people would look at official guides, the type that are written at the bookstore, but the problem with official guides are that they are never really up to date. You see the strategy, and that is it, you never really see how people counter the strategy, or if Blizzard releases an update how that will affect the strategy, there is so much that is left out. Although for single player campaigns, they serve their purpose quite nicely.

Now you must remember, a guide is not necessary to become great at Starcraft 2. The most important thing is simply to play, the more you play the better you will get. What the guide does is reduce your learning curve greatly, you will end up trying things that are known and proven to work, instead of randomly finding out yourself. If you consider your time to be valuable, then getting the guide is a good choice.

This just honestly covers the surface of what he has. For the value, and considering the time you’ll save trying to get better at the game, this is the best way that I can think of.
